An unforgettable year for the Mayor

THE Mayor of South Ribble is preparing to hand over her mayoral chains to the new Mayor after an ‘absolutely wonderful’ year representing the borough.Councillor Mary Green and her consort Tony Green have had a year full of events and have been representing the borough across the whole of Lancashire. They’ve been part of the Leyland Festival, presented students across the borough with prizes and awards, judged the 2016 Search for a Star auditions, hosted charity dinners including a masquerade ball and attended the dedication of the borough’s brand new WW1 memorial.Throughout the year the Mayor has raised plenty of money for her three chosen charities; St. Catherine’s Hospice, Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Legacy Rainbow House.
